Pentobarbital, a member of the barbiturate class of drugs, is a tranquilizer used in anesthesia, as a sedative, and to control seizures.
Like all other barbiturates, it’s largely been replaced by benzodiazepines due to concerns about addiction and overdoses (which are still possible with benzodiazepines).
Pentobarbital pills were known as “yellow jackets” due to their color and were widely abused. Pentobarbital abuse is exceptionally risky.
Barbiturates are very easy to overdose on and treating Pentobarbital addiction is difficult. A detox center must be the first step in recovering from Pentobarbital addiction.
