Dextropropoxyphene is an opioid pain reliever used to treat mild to moderate pain. Prescribed under the brand name Darvon, dextropropoxyphene was taken off the market in 2010 due to concerns over overdoses and heart problems.
Like all opioid painkillers, dextropropoxyphene is potentially addictive. Recovery from dextropropoxyphene can also be complex and unpleasant.
