Ventura Serenity House 2

MEMBER OF VENTURA COUNTY SOBER LIVING COALITION SINCE 2012, Ventura Serenity House 2 is the second of our Women's Homes and is managed by a Serenity House graduate of over 3 years. It is the only house on the West Side and is approximately 2.5 miles from the Beach. It is within walking distance of coffee shops and hiking trails as well as local bus and train stations. All of our residents enjoy a comfortable living environment with their own dresser, pantry space, refrigerator space and full use of kitchen and laundry facilities on site. There are a couple of bikes for residents' use as well. We have three absolutes at all of our houses and therefore IMMEDIATELY EXITED: TEST DIRTY - you can come back in 3 days if you test clean - and bring in your fee - a free ride is a free fall THREATEN OR CAUSE HARM - depending on the particular infraction, you may be allowed to return STEAL FROM THE HOUSE OR RESIDENTS These rules are what allows us to live in a family-like atmosphere without fear and promote a better sense of camaraderie among everyone. We encourage meal times together and group activities but we do not force anyone. We do require participation in our morning meditation and weekly house meetings to help keep the challenges of multiple personalities living under one roof at bay. We also require our residents to attend at least 5 12-step meetings per week. While we understand there are many choices regarding getting clean and sober and those are available, we run a 12-step based house and ask our residents to respect that. If you do not, this house may not work for you.
