At Associate Recovery Communities (ARC) Druid Home, a Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR) accredited program and property, participants are expected to attend 12 step meetings with another member of the community, gain a 12 step sponsor and begin working the 12 steps. Privileges at our program are attached to the residents work in the 12 steps. If a participant works through their 4th and 5th steps we will extend their curfew from 10pm-11pm. If the resident works into their 9th step under the continual direction of their sponsor we will allow them nights away from our home. At ARC we do not attach privilege's to an arbitrary amount of time, but to your actual work in rebuilding your life. The goal is that by the time you are ready to move on, you have learned how to independently maintain your abstinence from mind altering substances. That being said, we do not have the ability to keep anyone sober, and would happily share credit for the eventual Nobel Peace prize if you help us discover a silver bullet solution to the addictive personality disorder our staff, volunteers, and residents are all overcoming on a daily basis. We can and do maintain a safe and supportive recovery environment that fosters the growth of our participants though. So, if a residents picks up and drink or drug at any point while living with us, that person will be offered help in the form of getting to a detox, hospital or shelter, and will be immediately discharged from the program for the safety of our community. At ARC you are learning a new way of life, and we will hold you accountable to responsible, ethical, and purposeful recovery choices. Relapse does not have to be a part of your recovery journey, all you have to be willing to do is follow some tried and true suggestions that millions of persons throughout the world are maintaining their abstinence from mind altering substance with.
